FAQ
Fidget Ring Material
Sterling Silver- Sterling Silver is composed of 92.5% Silver and 7.5% Copper. The Copper is mixed with Silver to make it durable for jewellery longevity, creating Sterling Silver.
Sterling Silver is a precious metal and can last a lifetime with the proper care.
Sterling Silver does tarnish when exposed to air, moisture, and chemicals like perfumes or chlorine. However, unlike rust, tarnish does not damage silver, it is only a surface layer of oxidisation that can be wiped off easily. Use a polishing cloth after each wear to remove any dirt or tarnish.
When not wearing your jewellery, it is very important to store them in zip-lock bag or airtight box to avoid oxidation.
Silver/Gold Plated- Silver Plated and Gold Plated refers to jewellery created by covering a base metal, such as copper or brass, in a thin layer of real silver/gold. As plated jewellery only has a thin layer of silver/gold bonded to its surface, it can be scratched or tarnished easily. However, with proper care and cleaning, you could see plated pieces last for a long time. Store your jewellery in a zip-lock bag or airtight box when not in use, and wipe clean after each wear. Avoid contact with perfumes, oils, soaps, chemicals and chlorine.
FAHLO Bracelets
Fahlo Animal Tracking Bracelets track a real animal in the wild and contributes to animal conservation protecting their environments and spreading awareness. Fahlo partners with non-profits to foster curiosity for wildlife and excitement for their conservation, and with each bracelet purchase a percent of proceeds is donated to these non-profits. Fahlo's mission began in 2018, and they have since donated over $3 million to protect our planets most at-risk animals and their habitats.
To find out what non-profit organisations work with which animals, refer to the pages of the specific animal bracelets on our website as there will be more information about each animal.
How it works
When you purchase a bracelet, you are given instructions on how to set up your animal tracking bracelet on the app. There is a QR code to scan and download the FAHLO app. Once you have done this, in your app your animal will appear on a world map showing their name and picture, you will gain knowledge on their amazing stories and regular updates about them, and you can follow their incredible expedition on an exclusive tracking map.
Animal Safety
Each animal's unique path may be live, delayed, or historical based on required safety protocol in accordance with their non-profit partners.
While the experience of following an animal's journey remains the same for you, Fahlo work behind the scenes with their partners to ensure this experience is presented in a way that keeps the animals safe, one step or splash at a time.
How long does the tracking last?
On average, transmitters will send signals for around one year. Sometimes signals will continue for up to two years, other times less than one. If your tracking experience is cut short under six months, we are happy to give you a new replacement animal to track (excludes bracelet). If your animal stops tracking after six months, we hope that you will consider purchasing a new one to track and continue to support Fahlo's non-profit partners conservation efforts as part of their mission to save wildlife!
Bracelet Material
Fahlo bracelets are made from natural stone or glass. The elastic cord is made from surgical grade TPU, a biodegradable plastic.
Tracking
Depending what animal is chosen, tracking is done by either GPS collars, tapes, tag through a small pin, SPOT or PSAT tags, or physically following the animal (gorillas).
Collars will fall off animals after the intended time, same as the tags that are glued or taped on the animals as the animals will shed their hair naturally and/or the tag will fall off on its own. The small pin is referring to the dolphin tracking, and per the non-profit partners at the FIU Marine Mammal Ecology Lab says if the tracking harms the dolphins: "No, otherwise we would not want to to it, nor would we be allowed to do it, as they are federally protected species... and has no effects on the movements and behaviour of the tagged dolphins."
More information about how animals are tracked can be found on the Fahlo website.
